New Year New Life
Happy New Year everybody!
It's year 2015...and according to Chinese calendar it's the year of the Wooden Sheep. It's my year! People born in the year 1991 have the Chinese zodiac "Sheep". The lucky colors for the year green & yellow (which happens to be my favorite).
New Year means new life. A new beginning. A start of something new.
Year 2014 had been a roller coaster ride for me. There were good times. There were sad times. There were "first times". I must say that for the most part of it, I just go with the flow...be carried away where the winds blow me.
For year 2014: I gain new friends. Have been to places I've never been. Learn new things. Outgrow some things.
For this year...I just hope and pray for the best! I want to take a new and better path...especially on my career. I want to level up. I also hope that I will be more focused on learning and trying new things and boost my finances. I also hope that I would go on many adventures and travels this year. Pls Lord. Sana.
I will let God take charge in my life now because I know His plans are better than mine. I just hope that His jibes with mine.
Cheers to a great year ahead!!!!
Let's claim for a prosperous and blissful year 2015!!!
Let's rock 2015!
I am blessed and I know that.

Women's Day Post Celebration
The female of employees of the office were all encouraged to join the Women's Day Celebration/ Seminar on Violence on Women and Children which will be held at Don Arc Resort, Initao, Misamis Oriental. Almost every female employee enlisted to join the said activity.
So on a fine Friday morning, we depart the city around 7:30 in the morning to Initao riding on our office's vehicles. In my group/car assignment, I am with Ma'am Grace, Ma'am Ann, Jen, Flora, Janeene, Ate Lovelle, Ly-an, and two (informal riders), Mitch and Ivy. We rode on an Innova and our driver was Sir Loylors.

On our way to Initao! :) [L-R: Flora, Janeene, I, and Mitch] P.S I hate how distracting my mini-clip on my head was! |
We are actually the first group to got there apart from Tatay and his gang who got there at the place earlier than the rest of us for they shall prepare the food.
The resort was rather small with few nipa cottages lining up the shoreline. Though small, the resort was clean and serene. Talisay trees are all over the place which make the resort a cooler place to stay. Plus the white sands--I love white sands! And of course, the beach--it's calm and clean and it's so refreshing to look at! I just might want to splash in but unfortunately I can't! I have my red days, if you know what I mean.

When the rest of the groups arrived, we started formally and we begin it of course with a prayer. And before we finally start the seminar, we have a getting-to-you-know kind of activity. Yes. Even though we know almost each other (we are only a small organization), some were still not familiar with some others. Then after the "state-your-name-status activity, we proceed to yet another getting-to-know-you activity. This time it's a game between two groups.

Getting to know you game! ^^ |
After that activity, we finally proceed to the seminar on Violence against Women and Children or simply known as VAWC. Our guest speaker for that seminar was a resource speaker from Gabriela, Ma'am Lalae (pronounced as "Lalay"). But then again, before she went on the seminar proper, we had a group activity. The group was divided into two (2). One is female group and the other is male group. My team is the male group. So the mechanics was to name ten (10) parts of a male (in my team's case) that didn't have on a female. Same mechanics goes the same with the other group. Moreover, we are asked to jot down ten (10) characteristics of a male (in my team's case).

Yun oh! :p |
When the two groups were finally done with the listing, each group presented. And then after that introductory activity, we moved on to a more serious discussion--VAWC. The seminar was rather serious than funny. Yes there were times that we laughed at some explicit discussion but it's not something you should laugh about.

After the heavy discussion on VAWC, we proceeded with lunch! The seminar ended just in time for lunch! Our lunch was compose of sumptuous dishes, mainly seafood!
Then after our lunchtime, we had a short nap or what we call "power nap". We energy for the rest of the day. Soon after, we had a small seminar on Personal Hygiene presented by Ma'am Imee. And then after that was the games. Yey!

Another Favorite Poem
Here's another favorite poem of mine. It's called Desiderata by Max Ehrmann. Familiar, isn't it? The poem was written in the year 1927. ">The meaning of the poem title is "things that are desired". If you read the poem, it is actually a poem of virtues where you can find great wisdom.
About me liking the poem, well I happen to see a poster of this poem posted in our office's information wall. And then I thought to myself, "This is really familiar!". I read the whole poem and I like how the poem tells me how I should deal not only myself but also others in my journey in life.
So here's the poem:

MY ENTRADA
Hi readers!!
Okay, here's my first ever blog entry for the year!!!
Sorry if I keep you waiting..chos! Did you miss me?
Yes? Oh yes, I miss you too.
I miss blogging.
I don't really blog these days. I don't know. I'm so occupied with other things that I hardly have time to think and write and I'm kinda demotivated and uninspired to write. I dont know why but that's what I'm feeling. And it's not a good thing cuz what used to be my favorite past time hobby is now left out. I hope I can write more so I can inspire more. CHOS. A Big CHOS.
Anyway, how are ya people? I hope you're doing fine. Me? I'm doing well, just fine. But I hope I can do so much better.
A lot of things happened since last year to now.
Can you believe that I got to travel to three destinations last summer? It was really fun!!! Thank God for that.
First, I went to Surigao del Sur--that was my workplace's summer outing. I get to visit the tourist spots there.
Second at Iligan with my P4...it was our first ever travel out of the city and it was adventurous and fun!!
Third, last but not the least at Bohol...I had fun spending my leisure time with my relatives and cousins. During my stay there, I get to visit the places that were affected by a 7 point something magnitude earthquake.
It's already July now. More or less, two months from now, it will be my first anniversary at my workplace, God-willing. I thank God for the gift of work. My work really helped me a lot. :p
But honestly, there's something else I want to do in life. I know for myself that I can do so much better and I deserve better. I dont know where this path I am taking leads me to but I am hoping and praying that this is for the better.
I want to believe that God place me exactly where I have to be. I believe in Him. I believe that His plans are better than mine...but I also pray that my personal plans coincide with His. Guide me Lord. I need that kind of wisdom to make a decision...not just a mere decision but a right decision.
Uhmm..I think this is all for now.
Until my next entry.
Love and more,
G. Sy Chan
